To Be Or Not To Be Left Handed

As I mentioned in my last blog, there are and have been many famous left handed actors. Lefty Charlie Chaplin begun the acting list of southpaws on screen and was also a notable film maker.

Other left handed actors include; Robert Redford, Goldie Hawn, Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Nicole Kidman. Just to name a few. Check out a list of other famous lefties at Left Handed Birthdays. Their left handeded brain seems to give them the dramatic flair needed to be successful in the world of show business. If you are interested in an acting career I recommend you get Knock ‘Em Dead Acting by Holly Venable or Acting Out by Stuart Stone. These are two excellent online resources to get you started.

If you want to see lefty Tom Cruise dance in his underwear or Julia Roberts strut her stuff in Pretty Woman check out my youtube videos at Left Handed Actors. Acting and being left handed seem to make a perfect fit.

Recent surveys suggest that the percentage of lefties in the world has climbed to 12% or even as high as 15%. I guess it’s cool to be left handed!

To Bad Everyone’s Not Left Handed

There are so many advantages to being left handed that a single blog is probably not long enough. From using the creative right side of our brain to an unlimited number of famous left handed people who have contributed to our society, being left handed is an awesome physical attribute to have.

The roughly 10% of the population that are left handed tend to enjoy the arts and music more than our right handed friends due to the way our left handed brain works. The sports world has also appreciated the contributions of fellow southpaws such as Babe Ruth, Martina Navratilova, Mark Spitz, Larry Bird, etc. Go to the movies and you can watch left handers like Angelina Jolie, Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, and Robert DeNiro perform at the top level of the current box office performers.

Our world is definately a better place to live with the contributions of Leonardo Di Vinci, Ben Franklin, Henry Ford And Bill Gates. All left handed.

Not sure if you’re a true lefty? Go to my webpage on Left Handed Test and evaluate yourself or your family and friends.

Being left handed is such an increadible gift that we should  use our talent to help the world become a better place. Have you figured out what your contribution is or will be? Go to BeingLeftHanded.com and explore the possibilites.

To bad everyone’s not left handed! 😉

Left Handed Scholarships

My most popular (active) page on BeingLeftanded.com is about Left Handed Scholarships. With the economy as tight as it is and people getting laid off by the thousands on a daily basis everyone wants to improve their chances of landing a great job. Advanced degrees in any field of work increases your chances of getting or keeping a job in today’s environment. Paying for these advanced degrees can be tough and that’s where scholarships can play a big roll in your career and pocket book.

I must admit that there are not a lot of scholarships or grants specifically for left handed people, but with the help of the internet, narrowing your search down to scholarships for you can be only a few clicks away. Now I must warn you that some websites guarantee scholarships if you pay them, but these can be a bit questionable. However, I have found several free services (paid by ad sponsors, colleges, etc.) that can greatly help you in your search for extra money for college or degree. I personally use these for my on going search for financial aid for my two daughters that will be leaving the nest in only a few short years. The sites that I recommend have been around for many years and are very trustworthy. I highly recommend that you sign up for one or increase your chances and sign up for all of them.

So, don’t waist anymore time and go to my Left Handed Scholarship page and check out what resources are available for you. (I update this page frequently as I find more and or better resources to share with my loyal readers!) Your dream job is out there if you are willing to go get it. Good Luck!

A Left Handed Valentine

Yes Valentines Day comes each year on February 14th,  and coming up with something original or special gets tougher and tougher. I’ve found that well thought out gifts are most appreciated. A gift that is personal between the two, handmade item, or a service performed for your special someone scores high on the best valentines ever chart. Being Left Handed has allowed us southpaws to give a one of a kind valentine to our valentine. Yes,  an original Left Handed Valentine.

What is a Left Handed Valentine you may ask? Put simply, it’s a valentine card that opens from left to right instead of the common right to left version. You may laugh at this idea at first, but let’s think about it. Your special someone may give you a strange look at first, but once they understand your very original and special sentiment, they will not only cherish it but also talk about it for sometime to come. I guarantee it!

Now if your feeling blue this time of year because you don’t have a significant other to share this holiday (Valentine’s Day) with, you need to check out my Left Handed Friendship page on my website BeingLeftHanded.com. I have done some digging and have come up with the best free safe online friendship/relationship/dating services for lefties on the Internet. Who knows your special someone may also be left handed and may live across the street, across the country or around the world . How exciting! Check it out. 🙂
